Dear Members and Friends;
The Saint John Coltrane African Orthodox Church building, Planning and Development Committee together with the Saint John Coltrane Human Outreach Program's Staff are accepting a special challenge in this the 76th year of our Beloved patron Saint John Will-I-Am Coltrane.
Our programs have served the community's poor and lonely, having won recognition from the State and local government. We have been the vehicle of blessing for a national and international community. Yet we ourselves are in great need. While hundreds flock to hear the magnificent Saint John Coltrane Liturgy, we yet apoligize for the small spce in which we are housed. Members and visitors are all but turned away for a lack of seating capacity. The Saint John Coltrane Memorial Human Outreach Programs struggle to identify space to accommodate and to expand crucial community services. Our humble efforts have generated global attention; our ministry has taken us to Europe; yet, we have not met the great need of a proper edifice to honor God in the Spirit of John Coltrane. Therefore, this year, we are dedicating ourselves and intensifying our efforts in a more aggressive fund-raising campaign.
Our goals are to prepare a place and build an acceptable house before God; and to uplift and better accommodate the Human Outreach Programs which bear St. John's name; that they might be a fitting tribute to the exemplary life and work of John Coltrane. I would like to inform both our local members and friends and the greater community of the need for your participation and financial support in this effort.
Please respond to this request, as the Lord touches your heart. Give what you can to support this work. Those of you who are able, please become a part of the ``Force for Real Good" Wall of Commemoration.
Please send tax-deductible contributions to: John Coltrane Human Outreach Program c/o Saint John Coltrane A.O.C. 1286 Fillmore Streetreet San Francisco, CA 94115 email: info@saintjohncoltrane.org
May God Bless you in every good endeavor.
Sincerely, Reverend Sister Mary Deborah, S.O.C.
