John has the amazing experience of consistent, meditative listening to the Master John Coltrane's music-from the womb, in the birthing suite and throughout his life. The effects of this holy and spiritual influence are yet unfolding as John is being used by the power of God in the musical arena of drumming.
A dedicated member of St. John Coltrane A.O.C., John has been a powerful influence in bringing spiritual forces through music to the forefront for the freedom of our souls in the realm of God's presence. He is the drummer for St. John's Church Ensemble, plays regularly with Ohnedaruth and teaches at the John Coltrane Memorial free music class program.
John received music instruction at the San Francisco Symphony Hall, as well as The University of Stanford Summer Jazz Workshops. His mentors and tutors include: Tootie Heath, EW Wainwright, Bishop Norman Williams and Bishop Franzo King.
He has performed nationally and internationally on many stages including Paris' Sorbonne University, celebrating African & Jazz music and culture and the Antibes Jazz Fesitival in France.
