Fred holds B.M. and M.M. Degrees in Piano from the
San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
He has performed with many distinguished artists, including Albert ``Tootie" Heath, George Coleman, the late Dizzy Gillespie and Billy Higgins, as well as Bay Area icons Bishop Norman Williams, E.W. Wainwright, Eddie Marshall, the late Eddie Moore, Jules Broussard, Margie Baker, Ed Kelly and Faye Carol.
His national and international performances include engagements in Washington D.C., the Jamaica Jazz and Jazz
a Juan Festivals (Antibes, France) with the Rashied Ali/Ravi Coltrane Quartet with Carlos Santana, and with the St. John's African Orthodox Church Ensemble, Ohnedaruth.
Fred is also an educator, being on the faculties of the S.F. School of the Arts, where he received his Diploma, the Stanford Jazz Workshop and Rhythmic Concepts Jazz Camps.
Additionally, he is a private instructor in Piano and Percussion and performs extensively in the San Francisco/ Bay Area Jazz scene as a drummer and pianist. |
