FRANZO KING, JR.

Although Rev. Franzo King, Jr.'s love of the saxophone began around the age of four, when he received his first ``real" tenor sax as a gift from his father, Bishop Franzo W. King, his major development and study have taken place within the past decade.

His  growth and development as a musician have been enhanced through music instruction by the great talents of Bishop Franzo King, Father James Haven, Bishop Norman Williams, Grammy Award winner Joe Henderson, and the California Institutes of the Art's renowned Paul Novros, with whom he studied for two years.

Rev. Franzo King, Jr.'s talent, showmanship and humble spirit have blessed him with opportunities to play with many talented artists including Wallace Roney, Carlos Santana and Wynton Marsalis. He has performed in many highly respected Jazz arenas in the United States and overseas, including both the San Francisco and the San Jose Jazz Festivals, the Antibes Jass Festival in France and the famous Sorbonne in Paris. He is currently playing with St. John's Ohnedaruth.
