THE SAINT JOHN COLTRANE MEMORIAL
HUMAN OUTREACH PROGRAMS

Sponsored by:
The Sisters of Compassion
Holy Order of St. John The Divine Sound Baptist

Free Hot Meals
Home cooked meals are served to the poor and needy. We are now entering our 34th year of service to the community and have been recognized by the California State Legislature for this work.

Referrals are received from various agencies such as the Department of Social Services, Traveler's Aid, The Red Cross and the Salvation Army. Low income families, senior citizens, the handicapped and people from all walks of life are served. There is no discrimination as to race, creed or religious affiliation.

Free Clothing
At one time the poor could accommodate their clothing needs by taking advantage of the low prices offered at neighborhood thrift shops. Inflation has made this a thing of the past. We offer free new and used clothing and shoes tot he homeless, unemployed job seekers, anyone in need.

Housing
Many millions are now homeless. There is a growing need for safe temporary housing. In an effort to make a difference, we offer shelter to single women, mothers with children and men.

Radio Broadcast UPLIFT
UPLIFT is heard every Tuesday from 12-4pm on radio KPOO 89.5 FM. These four hours of listener sponsored programming offer the Word and Sound to:

"Uplift people as much as I can. To inspire them to realize more and more of their capacities for living meaningful lives, because there certainly is meaning to life."
                                                   -Saint John Coltrane

Free Music Classes
Classes in music theory and practice are offered free to students young and old, as a means of developing an expressive and creative discipline. The student receives an opportunity to perform and a deeper insight into the universal language of music as a healing force, bringing mind, body and soul into harmony with God.

CD's, tapes, records and instruments are given to young aspiring musicians who are unable to afford them. Listening clinics provide a further opportunity to enhance music appreciation skills.

There is need for land, a building to properly house programs and equipment to aid the labor. There is a need for committed monthly pledge members. Please join this effort by making a tax-deductible contribution. For further information, call 415-673-3572 or email us:

We would like to take this opportunity to extend our gratitude to all of you who have been supportive of the Saint John Coltrane Memorial Human Outreach Programs.
In the words of St. John:

``May God help and strengthen all men in every work of good endeavor,...
For in the bank of life is not good that investment which
surely pays the highest and most cherished dividends?"
